Catalyst FLX is a Finger Lakes consultancy serving nonprofits, community groups and commercial ventures.

Our team includes longtime professionals experienced in prospect research, grant writing, needs assessment, program development and nonprofit management and governance. We bring together specialists and college-based entrepreneurial assets to help communities define needs and meet them.

Our firm grew out of discussions about the disparities in nonprofit activity in Upstate communities. College towns have a distinct advantage. Ithaca, home of Cornell University and Ithaca College, has one of the highest rates of nonprofits per person in the country.

However, small rural communities, often with aging populations and declining employment oppportunities, often lag far behind. They’re missing opportunities that can fill ongoing needs and help local businesses rebound.

What could we do to assist these towns and villages? An idea was born. Our mission is to help, not to lead or to assume we know what’s best for a locality.

Upstate Giving. She is also data manager for Geneva 2030, which works for the success of students in the Geneva City School District. Bennett launched the Geneva 2030 web site, which features data visualizations using Tableau.
